don’t look where you don’t want to go or… look where you want to go

if your in the water and about to catch a wave and from no where you hear “beep beep” it’s me dropping in on you! but don’t worry we won’t collide because i have been practicing what my surf coach marcy says, “don’t look at them and you won’t hit them”… here is a still from a surf movie called “who is J.O.B.” that i watch over and over and over, because it inspires me sooooo much, of J.O.B. with a very intense focus on where he is going.
look where you want to go, is my new mantra, perhaps surfing will help me embody this practice!

Surfing Melinda

my friend melinda is one of the best humans i know. very honest, relaxed, humorous, compassionate and smart, she is the go-to person for A LOT of people on the island of Bali… but… one amazing amazing attribute to add to the above list or i should say two more amazing attributes are, passionate (for surfing particularly) and courageous, (which you need to charge BIG WAVES) anyway someone caught her on this big wave at sarongan beach and i made a small video of it… here it is

i became obsessed one day with photos shot by friends on facebook with iphone aps that gave the images old fashioned or tripped out coloring. i found free pre-setphotoshop actions, which i downloaded, that gave me the exact effects i wanted without purchasing an iphone or the aps! still unwilling to pay the cost for the iphone, i instead invested in a really good point and shoot. i have to say those new iphone photos are gorgeous, eventually i will give in and get one. i just hate hate hate the att monopoly on iphone and the price gouging that goes on with the unlocked ones… and ultimately my point and shoot is actually better quality. be careful purchasing point and shoot cameras however, not all make photographs that are much better than an iphone.
